Private Practice Promotion Materials: Your Business Card

It is extremely important that your business card, your website, and other basic practice promotion materials looks professional.  Your business card is definitely not the place to skimp on quality.  It  is often the first impression others may have about the quality of your services.  You should use good quality, heavy paper and good print quality.  Cheaper raised letter printing may smear and look unprofessional or make your cards stick together.  Do-it-yourself, pull apart business cards also do not give a professional look.

After having changed my cards many times over the years, I have found I prefer paying a little extra for a two sided business card.  The back can be used to make the card a referral card by have a short statement about "You have been referred to"  by ____________________ and offering a free consultation, free report, or other inexpensive service. I give my cards out liberally to other professionals, who generally appreciate having an easy way to make referrals.
