Recommended Web Hosting for Private Practice Websites

I highly recommend web hosting by IX Web Hosting, the host  for this website.  For a low monthly fee, you can host multiple web sites, each with separate domain names and dedicated IP's.  IX Web Hosting has been very reliable and has very good customer service.  I believe their web hosting is a great bargain. 

Why would you want multiple websites? 

When you have multiple websites you can target different populations or promote different services.  You can optimize different websites for different search terms.  You can "have your cake and eat it too" in terms of getting the marketing benefits of a practice niche but also having more variety in your practice.  Ever since I discovered Xsite Pro, I have easily and quickly built several search engine optimized websites related to my practice. 

My primary specialty is therapy with children.  However after several years of practice I wanted variety and broadened my focus.  Having several websites allows me to optimize for different services and address different clients needs.  It also allows for cheaper PPC advertising due to higher relevance of the website to the key words.  With multiple websites, I currently receive way more referrals than I can handle and am rapidly and inexpensively building up a group practice.

Why is a dedicated IP important?   

A dedicated IP means that no other website is using the same "internet address" as that domain.  Your sites are seen as totally different sites by the search engines when you have dedicated IPs for each site.  If you don't have a dedicated IP, search engine will see your sites as not separate, your placement will be hurt if you link your sites together in any way, and your sites will suffer in terms of search engine optimization.  If you are using an autoresponder on your server to email others, it is especially important to have a dedicated IP.  If you don't, you may get black listed for spamming if someone else from that server is spamming.
